The 2024 Latin Grammys were a star-studded affair as stars flocked to Miami’s Kaseya Center on Thursday to celebrate the 25th annual awards ceremony.
Past winners like Karol G, Shakira, Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma and Juan Luis Guerra were given their flowers, but up-and-coming talents such as Kevin Aguilar, Maura Nava, Latin Mafia and Sofi Saar were also celebrated.
To kick off the night, Carlos Vives lit up the stage with a medley of some of his biggest hits including “Fruta Fresca,” “La Bicicleta” and “Robarte Un Beso” (Vives was also named The Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year). The night also saw Joe Jonas hit the stage with best new artist winner Ela Taubert, and even though Juan Luis Guerra came out on top snagging album and record of the year − it was Karol G who made history, becoming the first woman to win the trophy in the best urban music album category two times consecutively.
This year, she won for “Mañana Serà Bonito (Bichota Season).”

Onstage accepting her award, Karol G gave a sweet shoutout to her boyfriend Feid, “This goes for that album and for the rest. For ‘Ferxxocalipsis’ as well.”
“To be honest, my life, my music, and what happens to me each day is about this: the love of you all,” the Colombian singer continued. “Thank you for this, thank you to my team, God, and everyone.”
Mexican music was also front and center throughout the night as Alejandro Fernández honored his father, the late Vicente Fernández, during the In Memoriam segment; Grupo Frontera delivered a rousing performance “El Amor De Su Vida” (which won a Latin Grammy Thursday night); and Becky G performed the heartbreak ballad “Por El Contrario” with Aguilar dynasty siblings Ángela Aguilar and Leonardo Aguilar.

A slate of winners was awarded trophies early Thursday, with Shakira and DJ Bizarrap taking home the win for best Latin electronic music performance (“Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Tiësto Remix)”), and best reggaeton went to Bad Bunny and Feid for “Perro Negro,” marking Feid’s first Latin Grammy win.
Reggaeton pioneer Daddy Yankee was also awarded for best urban song for “Bonita.”
Edgar Barrera – one of the creatives behind songs like Karol G’s “Mi Ex Tenía Razón,” which was up for record and song of the year; Becky G’s nominated track with Angela and Leonardo Aguilar, “Por El Contrario;” and Shakira & Fuerza Regida’s “El Jefe” – earned a sweep for songwriter and producer of the year.
